Tia Mowry early life & Family

Tia Dashon Mowry was born in Gelnhausen, West Germany, on July 6, 1978. Tia is two minutes younger than her twin sister, Tamera. Tamera was born first, at 4:30pm, followed by Tia at 4:32pm. She also has two younger brothers, actor Tahj Mowry and musician Tavior Mowry.

Her mother, Darlene Renée Mowry, is of Afro-Bahamian descent. Her father, Timothy John Mowry, is of British and Irish ancestry.

Tia Mowry and her sister first started participating in pageants and talent shows while their family was living at Fort Hood, Texas. By the time they were 12, they had convinced their mother to take a leap of faith and move with them to California so they could chase their dreams of acting. In 1990, the family made the move permanent, settling in Los Angeles, where the sisters began landing roles in commercials and small TV appearances.

Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict first met on the set of “Hollywood Horror”.
