The following post contains spoilers about ‘Claim to Fame’ Season 3 finale.
Claim to Fame season 3 has announced its winner. In the final hour of the two-part finale on Wednesday, Hud, Adam, and Mackenzie battled it out for the $100,000 grand prize. Adam gained an advantage after winning a challenge earlier in the episode, allowing him to choose himself as the guesser for both Mackenzie and Hud.
Though Adam was a “wild card” all season, he correctly guessed Mackenzie’s relative as her father Trace Adkins and Hud’s relative as his father John Mellencamp.
‘Claim to Fame’ season 3 winner
Adam Christoferson was announced as the victor of ‘Claim to Fame‘ season 3. At the same time, it came out that Adam is Michael Bolton’s nephew.
Adam’s path to victory wasn’t easy. Earlier in the episode, he got hurt during a challenge, almost forcing him to leave the competition. Recalling the moment when he injured his head, he says “Adrenaline was high,”. At the time of injury, his head started bleeding and needed stitches later.
He further added – “Luckily, I was able to clot, but before a producer or the team really allowed me to continue, the reality sunk in that I’ve come this far, and I was my own demise that I was just going too fast, too hard, and I did this to myself, and I’m letting my family down. I’m letting myself down”.
The 40 years old Adam Christoferson shared the news of his big win with his wife just 10 minutes after they reunited on the way home from the airport. She kept his secret until Wednesday night. He used the $100,000 prize to buy a truck for his dad, who he describes as an “amazing man who gives everything he can.”
Adam has been portrayed as the villain throughout the season. He points out that what you see on TV isn’t always the full story. He sets out ” Honestly, as far as editing is concerned, they’re capturing so many realities. I don’t think for a second they captured anything that I’m not”. He further explains “I really have had a good life with regards to just being myself and trying to make my way. It might rub people the wrong way at times, and that’s okay.”
He mentions that his wife and kids have been some of his biggest supporters throughout the season, watching every episode. He says “My daughter and my wife and I would have a really sweet time on Wednesday nights where we’d sit there together.” He also shares that his 4-year-old daughter was actually better at guessing than he was.
Adam mentioned that Bolton has been very supportive. During the finale, Adam gets emotional over his written message as he opens up about his uncle’s surgery earlier this year to remove a brain tumor.
After appearing on the show, Adam wants to highlight causes he cares about. One of these is his studio, Musical Intervention, located in New Haven, Conn. At the age of 17, he started his studio – Musical Intervention. Taking about his studio, he says “I wanted to build a creative space for people to not be judged and just to be accepted for their creative talents. I got my degree, and I started working in psychiatric hospitals, writing and recording songs with people, and really just finding out that music was a language that everybody could share. So I opened up a studio in downtown New Haven that’s completely free and open to the public. It’s a sober environment, which means anybody can come in and work with each other and find inspiration and craft their skills. Especially for people who don’t have money, who don’t have the opportunities to access music equipment, producers, other bands, and bandmates, it’s really a special thing that I believe belongs in every city.”
Adam says his uncle loved music a lot. This passion really inspired him and got the project started.
