Reality TV star Amy Slaton has been arrested by the police at a Tennessee zoo. She is now facing drug and child endangerment charges. On Monday, September 2, the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report that a guest had been bitten by a camel at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo. This information was confirmed in a Facebook post by the officials.
The post says – “Upon arrival, deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle.”
Amy Slaton, known for her role on TLC’s show 1,000-Lb. Sisters since it first aired in January 2020. She was arrested alongside Brian Scott Lovvorn. According to that facebook post, they are both facing charges for illegal possession of schedule I and schedule IV drugs, as well as two counts of child endangerment.
Lovvorn and Slaton were in the same vehicle. They have been booked into the Crockett County Jail. The authorities haven’t released any details about who was bitten or any injuries from the alleged camel bite.
“The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence,” the Sheriff’s Department added in the post. “The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.”
Slaton has been going through a tough time. In March 2023, her husband Michael Halterman, filed for divorce. They have two sons together: Gage Deon, who is 4, and Glenn Allen, who is 2.
In December 2023, Slaton shared that she was focusing on her mental health and taking care of her two sons after her divorce. She revealed that it had been a challenging year and said her mental health was “the worst it’s ever been.” She further added “it wasn’t just me who was affected, it was impacting Gage and Glenn too. It was really tough.”
